She runs on one small computer in your room.

ZoeyOS puts a face on your screen, an ear in the room and a 27-billion-parameter brain on a single card. You talk, she answers out loud, she keeps the house running overnight, and what you say stays on the box.

Friday Zoey: the desk hub

Heads down at the laptop, hair up. One hub loop, ten flourishes, three talking angles, and the walk away and back. Sixteen clips that drop straight into the Wall.

What living with her is like

An assistant you speak to across the room, who knows who you are, and who does the back-office work while you sleep.

Hears and speaks

Say her name, or keep talking while she is listening. She answers in her own voice, and her mouth moves with the words on the Wall. Speech recognition and the voice both run on the box.

Knows who is talking

Authority comes from a live face at the desk and the voice on each turn. A visitor gets a polite conversation and no commands. Nobody talks their way in with a clever sentence.

Runs the house

A board of work moves through a crew of agents at night. Judges and a reviewer grade every finished piece, and she makes the final call on anything the rules cannot settle.

Shows her work

The Wall is a glass on your screen: her face, the board, the renders and one daily report that says what ran, what landed and what needs you.

Built for the work that cannot leave the room

A local model you can train on your own material, and an avatar made for the job. Four places we expect her first.

The law office

Avatar pack Legal Eagle coming soon

In Standard mode she holds a matter of about 170 dense pages in one sitting and answers questions on it out loud. Train her on your own precedents and templates with Unsloth, on the same card that serves her. Nothing about the matter touches a vendor.

  • Turn the room Secure with one click when a client walks in.
  • Every transcript stays on the box, and the microphone has a real off switch.

Homeschool, and homeschool groups

Avatar pack Schoolteacher coming soon

A tutor who knows the curriculum you chose, with a face the kids will talk to. Parents hold the authority; the children get the teacher. One box can serve a co-op, with each family's material trained in.

  • No account, no subscription, no child's voice sent anywhere.
  • She knows which parent is at the desk before she takes an instruction.

The small business

Avatar pack Entrepreneur coming soon

Front desk by day, back office by night. She takes the question in the room, the crew does the digging on a board overnight, and the morning report says what landed. Train her on your catalogue, your contracts, your way of writing.

  • Upgrades, health checks and security sweeps run themselves and report.
  • Your data and your model are an asset on your shelf, on hardware you own.

Creators and YouTubers

The krew, on your channel

A production team that works while you sleep. Scout reads your niche every night: the channels, feeds and repos you name, what moved, what is getting traction. The team debates the ideas, ranks them and votes. A try carries a number to move and a baseline to beat, so next week's report says whether the idea worked, measured on your own channel.

  • Research, scripts and clip review on a board overnight; the morning report says what landed.
  • Performance read as a number against last week, never as a feeling.
  • And a co-host with a face, if you want one: your own portrait made into an avatar, or one from the store.

coming soon The trade packs named here are not for sale yet: Legal Eagle, Schoolteacher and Entrepreneur are planned, and likely many more. Tell us the trade and we will build the pack.

How she stays yours

Most prompt-injection demos assume a chatbot that does whatever the transcript says. This house is not that chatbot. The transcript is one input. Permission is another.

Business as usual

The camera keeps finding you

In daily use the face finder re-checks who is at the desk continually, and the door is watched otherwise. Authority is granted only by a live, recognised face. Voice identifies the speaker on every turn but can never grant authority on its own.

Guests are heard and logged. They get no names, no roster, no memory and no house commands.

Secure

The room is labelled Secure

One click. She holds the authority she already has, watches the door, and the moment an unknown face enters, anything confidential on the glass is gone and she drops back to business as usual. A visitor can click it off, but cannot click it back on without your face.

Secure can inherit authority. It cannot mint it.

Secure, held

Held with your password

A double click asks for the account password. While held, door faces and the tripwire cannot drop Secure; one click releases it. A restart clears the hold, because a box that was down cannot know who came in.

The password is checked by the operating system, used once and never logged.

Two polite refusals of “do something she cannot do” become a snapshot and an incident file, whoever asked, the owner included. Visitors are a face and a log line; nothing interprets the video. The rules that can be checked live in code. The judgement calls live in the model.

What never leaves the box

Every speech and vision service listens on loopback. Cloud speech, cloud vision and cloud language models were a deliberate non-adopt. Measured on the running machine.

The honest bound: after she knows it is you, a tool you ask her to use, such as local search or a browser, can reach the network. That is a logged-in operator asking for a lookup. Guests never get those tools.

A house that improves, heals and maintains itself

Scripts detect and land. Models judge and write in three seats only. One agent rules. The owner is the last resort.

Off-hoursthe research run, every night in your quiet window

Self-improving

Scout reads the sources: the repos The Next New Thing featured, Hacker News, r/LocalLLaMA, the vLLM and Hermes changelogs. The team debates the note, ranks it and votes. Only an idea that won the vote, with a number to move and a baseline to beat, becomes a card. The next window measures whether it moved.

5 minthe Janitor's patrol

Self-healing

The Janitor samples every unit; the keeper, the hold sweep and the board gate each run their own clock. A card that fails the same way twice is reframed one level up instead of retried, and two failed frames go to Zoey as a question. A restart is owed to her quiet window, never fired on the spot.

Nightlymaintenance and security, in the off-hours

Self-maintaining

A security sweep, health checks on every service and an upgrade scan per environment, each with a smoke test and a last-good rollback. The night's result is one HTML page, the House Daily: what ran, what drifted, what landed and what needs a person. No model writes that page.

  1. Scripts detect

Patrols, gates and sweeps find the fault, classify it (harness, verb, or real) and file one card.

  2. Judges and reviewers grade

A judge posts one verdict per card. Vera reviews every finished build; a fail files the fix.

  3. Zoey rules

Her Decide queue: try, park, later, done or hands. She finishes the column every wake.

  4. You, last resort

A host reboot takes your yes. Hands in the room are yours. Software calls are hers.

The krew

Eight agents share the one brain, each with a seat and a job. They are a big part of what the box is. None of them can reach your browser, your credentials or their own gate.

Zoey
Chief of Staff and the voice in the room. Rules the Decide queue, spot-checks the team's work and reports her calls to you.
Ada
Board orchestrator and the only inbox. Cuts a card into children and assigns them. Does not build.
Bash
Coder. Builds on the host, reviews dependencies, runs the render jobs that need a shell.
Steward
Second coder, architect of record, maintenance and host security. Files your reports.
Lila
Designer and researcher, and the only browser in the house. Specs, clip review, render minting.
Vera
The only reviewer. Every finished build comes to her; she approves it or sends it back.
Judge
One call, one verb. Answers a card a detector already diagnosed, then closes its own.
Scout
Nightly notes on the local-AI world and your sources. Never on the board; the architect reads them as data.

One small box. Anyone can build it.

A mini-ITX board, one workstation card, two drives. The parts list and every running version are read from the machine itself, so the same box can be built again.

The full parts and software list is on The box page, linked at the foot of every page. Larger boxes work too; the modes doc shows what each configuration holds, in pages of text.

BoardASUS ROG STRIX X870-I, mini-ITX
CPUAMD Ryzen 9 9950X, 16 cores

GPUNVIDIA RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell, 96 GB. Brain, voice, ear and face share it.

RoomA reSpeaker beam microphone, a room camera, ordinary speakers
OSUbuntu LTS. Every service is a systemd unit with a kill switch.

Start free. Add a face. Make her yours.

The Wall is open source. Everything else is a pack you add to it.

The Wall, free and open

An avatar on your screen that any agent can speak through. Five core loops, her mouth stamped to the words, one set of verbs for your agent to drive her with.

  • MIT licence; runs on Linux or a Mac
  • Speak through it from MCP, the krew plugin or one HTTP call
  • No account, no telemetry

Packs from the store

Hub loops and flourishes that drop into your library. A minimum hub is a talking take, a listening loop and a working loop; a full hub adds the heads-up and multitasking loops; a three-pack is three flourishes.

  • Every clip starts and ends on one anchor, so loops need no transitions
  • Preview the work loop before you buy

Custom packaging

Imagine makes a full pack from one portrait: a hub loop, ten flourishes, a walk-in and walk-off, and the talking takes her mouth is cut from. A trade pack adds the model, trained on your material.

SchoolteacherLegal EagleEntrepreneurthe one you ask for

coming soon The trade packs and the custom pack are not for sale yet. Planned: $49 for a full custom pack from your portrait, with up to two retakes a clip in the budget; $149 to buy the licence out and keep your pack off the store.

Watch her graded, live, on X Spaces

The demo is a scripted lap, started from the Dev button on her own control panel. Taped questions play through the room speakers, she hears them on the real microphone, answers on the Wall, and an announcer says pass or fail out loud. Nothing is pre-rendered.

Every lap writes a ledger. The number she got right is the number we say.

  1. WakeHer name, from the tape. She looks up.
  2. DocsA question about the house. She searches her own docs and answers.
  3. Board“Open the board.” The Wall shows the night's cards.
  4. RendersWhat is in the queue. She reads it off the orders, pending and running.
  5. DailyThe House Daily on the glass, and the Improving lamp read from the file.
  6. GuestA stranger asks for the house. She is polite and gives nothing.

The technical docs

Everything the page above claims is written down, with the day it was measured. Build the box, read the loops, check the security model yourself.
